About Mike

I take pride in providing a very friendly professional environment in which to help you sell or buy your home. I am confident, with the information here, you will get a better idea about who I am and why I am able to provide you with the service and professionalism you deserve.
"Mike helped us find and purchase our dream home. He listened carefully to our needs and selected listings that met our criteria. Mike was very patient and thorough in explaining the processes involved in locating and purchasing a home, as we were first time buyers. He sent emails on a daily basis and made regular phone calls; Mike responded to messages extremely promptly. Mike was very flexibly and accommodating to our somewhat limited availability; my husband works out of town Monday to Friday. Mike was extremely knowledgeable about homes in our market, as well as strategies to most effectively negotiate a price. We were very grateful for Mike's friendly, easy-going, and confident nature which made our first house purchasing experience extremely positive and successful.  His professionalism is second to none." - Tami & Lionel, Courtenay

Out of high school I helped open and then helped manage the first quick oil change shop on Vancouver Island in Victoria. After a year of changing oil I was accepted into the Canadian Military as a marine electrician. During my 4 years in the service I was fortunate enough to visit many foreign cities on the pacific. To this day I am very proud of my military service and proud to have had the opportunity to serve as an ambassador to this wonderful country I call home.
Upon leaving the Military I started a 12 year career in the office equipment industry doing everything from servicing to selling and eventually managing an office.  I had always had an interest in Real Estate and eventually left the office equipment industry to pursue a career, I joined Royal LePage in 2005. I am proud to say I received the Royal LePage Diamond Award, achieving the highest level awarded, in only my 3rd year of business. This award recognizes the top 3% in Royal LePage in the Comox Valley.
I have called the Comox Valley home for the past 24 years and feel very lucky to live in paradise.
I have been happily married for 25 years to Teresa and we have two wonderful grown children, Colin and Anita.  My family has been involved in many activities in the Comox Valley including Hockey, skiing, baseball, theatre, singing, dance, and many other community activities. I have also been a firefighter in Comox and have been involved in Rotary among other community groups over the years.
I try to give back to this community as much as it gives to my family and I. My belief is that charity starts at home and I pride myself on donating regularly to local Comox Valley charities and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

"Mike helped me find my current home at a difficult time for me personally. He took the time to show me homes that he knew met my criteria and even some he thought I should consider.  When it came to my final choice, Mike had the courage and patience to help me make that choice which was obviously the best one for me but, given my state of mind, I didn't initially see it clearly. When it came to making the offer, Mike helped me structure it so I would receive a price I could live with but also be considered sincere and successful. Now that I have lived in my home for 18 months, I often think of how grateful I am that Mike helped me choose my home. Throughout the entire process Mike was both professional and compassionate." - Russ K.
